“I was fortunate enough to go see the Window Panes last Friday evening 3/16/12. They were full of energy... had a nice assortment of covers from the Grateful Dead, Indecision, and Keller Williams... originals including Broken Window Panes, Holly, and I believe the other was titled Bottle of Sunshine which were all amazing in their own ways. Next time I would love to see some more music freaks enjoying and dancing to the tunes these guys play.” ...Jim Stone, CEO - CandyMan Presents

Listening to 'bottle of sunshine' is like hearing sunshine into my soul, cool tune...Half Past 3 band

Very nice folks all the way from Winchester...The musicianship was  outstanding, grate setlist. I hope they come back to town! ...Sue Bailey, Assistant Organizer, NOVA Deadheads (www.meetup.com)

The Window Panes are more than just an acoustic/folk rock band from Winchester, Virginia.  They are passionate musicians, who have honed their craft and enjoy nothing more than sharing their talents live, on stage.  The band members write and compose a substantial portion of the music they perform; often times reflecting on personal experiences that have touched their lives.  Their personal connection to the music translates into a solid performance with every song; invigorating, enveloping, and embracing their audience.

Members of The Window Panes also share a deep love of Americana/Folk Rock/Jam Band forms of music.  Influences on the band, which can often be heard throughout their performances include: the Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Keller Williams, Indecision, the Rolling Stones, and many others.  While the band enthusiastically enjoys putting their own touch on notable artist's songs, they are far from simply being considered a cover band.  Originally penned tunes are what truly drives their creative appetite.  They have many to choose from, including the inspiring 'Better Way', to the sing a long 'Bottle of Sunshine.'

History:  David Drew Porter (guitarist/singer/songwriter) & Paul Morgan (bassist/songwriter) began performing as a folk duo on New Years Eve 2009.  Then, under the moniker, The Window Panes, in the Spring of 2011, they were discovered by renowned mandolin player, vocalist & songwriter, Vince Diem (departed summer '13), of bluegrass group, Flint Hollow, at a coffee shop in Winchester, VA.   Next, came Christopher White to check out the trio and he joined shortly thereafter adding distinctively tasteful leads on guitar and unique vocals.  Recent years have found the band playing many festivals and gaining  increased notoriety in the region.  After warmly embracing the talented mandolin master, Niles Hokkanen from 2014-2016, the band produced their first CD, 'Bottle of Sunshine.'   Playing live with Hokkanen enabled them to discover groundbreaking musicianship and inspiration. Mr. Neutron (Niles) made like an atom and split as the band needed some well deserved time off for a variety of personal & professional reasons.  As the band heads into 2017 the band is excited at the sound developing with the addition of Steve Isenberg on keyboards and Keith Keister on drums.

These guys combine passionate sets of original music with some of their favorite bands.   These guys just enjoy singin', pickin', & grinin'.
